This Indonesian island is a paradise with stunning beaches, vibrant culture, and delicious food. But what really sets Bali apart are its many hot spots that cater to different interests and budgets.

Where to go in Bali?

To experience the real Balinese culture, Ubud is the place to be. This charming town is nestled in the lush green hills of central Bali and is famous for its rice paddies, traditional Balinese architecture, and bustling markets. You can spend your days browsing local art galleries, taking a cooking class, or learning how to make your own batik textiles. And don’t forget to visit the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary for an up-close encounter with Bali’s cheeky monkeys!

Restaurants you won’t want to miss in Ubud:
Moksa: This was Alex’s favourite restaurant, where locally-sourced ingredients are transformed into mouth-watering dishes that will leave you wanting more. Their tempeh ribs are incredible!

Zest: A must visit restaurant for delicious plant-based cuisine and a tranquil dining experience. They only use Bali grown organic products and that’s pretty cool.

The best beaches in Bali:

If you’re looking for some fun in the sun, Kuta is the place to be. Kuta Beach is a popular spot for surfing and bodyboarding, and you can rent equipment or take lessons from the many surf schools along the beach. And don’t worry if you’re a beginner – Kuta Beach has plenty of gentle waves that are perfect for first-timers.

For a more serene beach experience, check out Nusa Dua. This gated resort area in the south of Bali has some of the island’s most beautiful white sand beaches and crystal clear waters. You can spend your days lounging by the pool, playing golf, or trying out different water sports like snorkelling, kayaking, or stand-up paddle-boarding.

To watch the sunset from the most beautiful beaches, Uluwatu is your place. Uluwatu offers an abundance of stunning beaches, ranging from secluded coves to vibrant stretches of sand. Some of the most popular beaches in the area include Padang Padang, Dreamland, and Bingin.

For a relaxing and restorative afternoon, The Istana, a beautiful spa on top of a cliff overlooking the ocean, offers a wide range of revitalising activities including sauna, ice bath, and massages.

And last but not least, if you’re looking for a laid-back surf culture vibe, head to Canggu. This coastal village in the north of Bali has a bohemian feel with its surf shops, cafes, and beach bars. Canggu Beach is a popular spot for surfers of all levels, and there are plenty of yoga studios, gyms and wellness centres in the area.

Restaurants you won’t want to miss in Canggu:

Shady Shack: Escape to a rustic paradise at Shady Shack restaurant in Bali, where delicious vegan cuisine and lush greenery blend together for a truly enchanting dining experience.

Baked: If you’re looking for the most delicious pastries on the island, this is your place!
